 The starting point for registration of family physicians from outside of Canada to practice in BC is through Practice ready assessment BC (PRA-BC)

you need to pass the English proficiency Test exam OET and have B in all sections

 you need to pass the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Exam (MCCQE1)

you need two years postgraduate training with the medical branches and durations as set by PRA-BC

BC is in an immediate need for family physicians, in order to integrate International Medical Graduates who are family physicians in their home country, the system below outlines what the process works like

1) Open an account in physiciansapply.ca, you should upload your medical diploma, medical degree, postgraduate training ( two years in case of family medicine with the required branches and duration as set by PRA BC ( be sure your name matches in the passport and in the medical degrees)

2) To sit the MCCQE1 exam, pay a fee using your physiciansappply profile, you will be provided an authorization code, this code can be used to book to sit the MCCQE1 exam any location ( country) and date ( based on avilablity) using the prometric website https://proscheduler.prometric.com/?prg=MCC&path=seatavail

3) Have at least two years independent practice as a family physician in your home country

4) After having the above apply for PRA BC from their website
